Typographi.ca

Looking for something else, I found this cool blog on type.
More info one can possibly absorb. Great start to jump from site to site and discover a bunch of interesting projects.
But still I couldn't find my answer to who did the movie titles of Catch me if you can?

Newsmap

I am not sure if I fully understand this but it's too cool to leave out. (I got the link through Phil and Jimmy, thanks)
Newsmap tries to show visually how Google News displays the information. What seemed to be a totally random and more unbiased system of gathering news from millions of different sources, has indeed some underlying patterns. While I am not sure if the patters reside in the foreign media themselves or in the way that Google gathers the information, this new system displays how "instead of presenting an unbiased view of the news, it ironically accentuate the bias of it."
Anyway, it's a joy to look at. Check it out here. And comments or futher explanations are welcome.

Patrick Smith

Sadly enough the only time you have seen his work may have been during the Zoloft commercial. Remember that little depressed cute dot?
Or maybe you were more lucky and happen to walk by one of his human column drawings in different spots on the city.
Anyway, this artist have a lot of cool stuff worth checking out.

Cat Power

We went to see Cat Power yesterday at the Apolo. It was great because it wasn't more than 200 people in the crowd. So you could actually walk and stand right there, by her.
Her voice is awesome althought the sound system wasn't helping her out. That and the fact that it was her first sober concert (as she repeated over and over) turned the event into a weird one. She couldn't get over the fact that how much she sucked and she drank scotch and more scotch until she finished early.
I loved it. I loved seeing her acting so real and I loved her voice. Truly amazing despite the sound system.
