Spellbound

We finally got to see Spellbound. It's without a doubt, one of the best documentaries of the year. It just came out in DVD.
8 stories of spellers that go to the National Spelling Bee Competition in DC and their techniques to prepare themselves.
It kind of freaked me out a bit to see the kids so motivated and the parents so obsessed. I guess it's not about spelling as much as it is about competition.
Interesting to get into someone else's obsessions and dreams. Beautifully shot and really intense. Totally recommended.
